Take your gardening to the next level! And share the joy with others!
If you feel like you can respond yes to the questions below, then Master Gardener℠ volunteer(s) is likely a perfect program for you to be a part of.
1. Do I want to learn more about growing many types of plants?
2. Do I enjoy spending time with others who love gardening?
3. Am I eager to participate in a practical and intense training program?
4. Do I look forward to sharing my knowledge with people in my community?
5. Do I have enough time to attend training sessions and to serve as a volunteer?
The Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Lincoln County is currently accepting applications for interested individuals. Course classes begin on September 1, 2021, and will meet at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Lincoln County Center, 115 West Main Street, Lincolnton every Wednesday from 9 a.m.–noon, ending on December 15, 2021. (We will not have class on October 6, 27, and November 24.)
There are two fee options for the class:
Option 1: $140 which includes a $60 hardcover manual, a $50.00 program development fee per trainee that is assessed by NC State University, a name tag, and other course supplies or
Option 2: $80 which includes the $50 program development fee, a name tag, course supplies, and a free online version of the manual or the purchase of an e-book by you for $50 separately before the 1st class.
This initial training course is open to all who register. To serve as a Master Gardener℠ volunteer and member of the Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of Lincoln County, there is an additional application and background check process.
Those with a strong interest in both gardening and their community are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be comfortable working with a diverse group of people and willing to share their knowledge with both new and experienced gardeners.
I look forward to exploring the world of gardening together!
