Located at 306 W Main St, Lincolnton, NC, the Jonas Public Library is a public use resource with a garden area supported by NC State Cooperative Extension and the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Lincoln County.

Originally, the Jonas Library Garden was a Rose Garden. Planted in 1982 with roses donated by the Stoudemire Family in honor of George A. Stoudemire, who was the Lincoln County Agricultural Extension Agent for twenty-five years. However, by 2010 the roses were in excess of 25 years old and in need of replacing. In 2011 the Cleveland/Lincoln County Rose Society, refurbished the garden with new roses, dedicated to Tracy Jenkins, the Lincoln County Horticulturist from 1998-2010. Over the years as the trees have matured much of the garden now contains too much shade for the roses to flourish. In 2021 The Lincoln County Master Gardener Volunteer Association in conjunction with NC State Cooperative Extension and with the approval of Lincolnton Officials, created a new plan to convert the Rose Garden into a Shade Garden. This garden continues to be maintained regularly by Master Gardener volunteers in Lincoln County as one of numerous programs to educate the community on the best practices and benefits of gardening.

Visitors can enjoy the natural appeal and peaceful setting in the outdoor space adjacent to the parking lot, full of color from Spring through Fall.
